Virtual DataLab Science

This interactive simulation provides

students with an excellent introduction to

datalogging within the science lab.

The Biology Lab allows students to

investigate photosynthesis within a range

of plants.

The Physics Lab allows an investigation of

Newton’s Second Law of Motion.

vLog

vLog is a four-port virtual datalogger. It

can sample in three modes: Basic,

Precision and Manual.

vGraph

vGraph is the graphing software that

accompanies vLog. It displays data

captured with vLog in tabular and

graphical form. Data can be analyzed

within vGraph and exported for analysis in

Excel. Data can be printed and saved for

later use.

Sensors

Each environment has a selection of

sensors that can be chosen and connected

to the ports of vLog.

Helpers

A selection of built-in helpers are available

within the software including:

• Stopwatch

• Measure

• Calculator

• Magnifier (Toolbar)

Photosynthesis

The Photosynthesis environment

allows the investigation of the rate of

photosynthesis in 4 types of plant.

The correlation between light level

and oxygen production can be

explored and discovered through

experimentation.

Apparatus includes:

• Retort stand

• Clamp

• Rod

• Desk lamp

• Beaker with water

Plants include:

• Elodea

• Cabomba Caroliniana

• Hygrophila Corymbosa

• Hygrophila Lacustris

Dynamics Station

The Dynamics Station environment

allows the investigation of Newton’s

second law of motion. Students can

alter the mass of an object and the

forces applied to it, and then view

the effect on the object’s velocity and

acceleration.

Apparatus includes:

• Acceleration track

• Cart

• 4 boxes

• Hook

• 5 masses

• Scales

User Guide

The simulator includes

 a comprehensive

user guide, which explains

how to access and use the

environments and the

datalogging features

InterACTIVE Science Resources

We have created a series of science resources for your electronic whiteboard or VLE. Ranging from topic specific teacher presentations to interactive software simulations, these resources have been specifically designed to help teachers make the best use of their science laboratory and to ensure that students gain the most from their learning experience.
